DVF Marisa Draped Wrap Hobo

I always get the credit for looking good when wearing DVF. People don’t necessarily say, “Nice dress”, they say, “You look great”, which is a high compliment to DVF, she just makes you look like you have it all going on and the focus is really on you. I think that is her intention. And that’s how this hobo is. You look like you know what you’re doing effortlessly but it isn’t a flashy bag that is screaming, “Look at me!!”. There is a sprinkle of studs but very sparingly and the strap has these fold over tab details that are so unique. The bag is of course incredibly functional, being a true DVF, like the two zipper pocket on the sides to get to your stuff. At Neiman Marcus for $595.

LC in Rebecca Minkoff

There are few bags at this price point that are as covetable as the Rebecca Minkoff Supernova Stud Devote Handbag ($695). I’ve been eyeing it for a few weeks now and can’t decide whether to get it in black or brown
. It’s one of the few bags I’ve seen that uses studs without it feeling overly-trendy/rocker-like. Not that it looks like it per se, but the Supernova feels very similar to Miu Miu’s Studded Shoulder Bag in spirit (a bag which by the way I bought early this year and love!). They both stand-out because of their over-sized size and use of big, round studs. The Minkhoff is lighter than Miu Miu’s version for those who consider weight a make it or break it issue. I’m liking the buckled strap detail at the sides and the gold hardware and unlike most of the handbags I currently wear on a daily basis, this style has a single shoulder strap. The only downside is that the closure is a magnetic-snap which always causes me to worry about pick-pockets. That said there is ton of room in the bag, so most everything falls to the bottom (hence the slouchy-ness you see in the photo of Lauren Conrad carrying the bag). I am for sure digging on this bag in a big way. Although I don’t know if this alone will bring Chloe back from oblivion. It is still trying to be a Phoebe Philo design, this is the slouchier and softer (as in leather) Edith. Original it is not, it’s a patchwork of the Edith, the Muse Two and Mulberry. But even so, I like the relaxed vibe and slight edge. The zipper bottom compartment is a bit odd but the uncomfortable feel makes it interesting, I want to keep looking at it. That loose belted tie is haphazard but cool! The vermillion red is the perfect shade for the most versatility in a bag. Not too bright but will definitely turn heads. Blake Lively On the Set with a Treesje Purse

Seriously, how do I get cast on “Gossip Girl”? Their outfits are just fabulous to resist…even if I have to play somebody’s RA or something. Blake Lively hit the set with real-life boyfriend Penn Badgley in a chic (if not really short) tunic dress paired with a funky turquoise Treesje The Jovi purse. I love the handbag’s pop of color and studded details – very hip.

Proenza Schouler Large Python PS 1

Okay, it’s official: the Proenza Schouler PS 1 Satchel is my favorite handbag of the season. I mean, just when I think they can’t top it, they prove me wrong. I was completely enamored with the black suede version, but this brown python update is pretty far out too. It’s just so ridiculous luxe, but not flashy or extravagant, which I like. This definitely belongs in my fall wardrobe. Available for $4,250 at Barneys.

Leighton Meester & Her Nancy Gonzalez Clutch

Score another win for the “Gossip Girl” stylists. Ed Westwick and Leighton Meester looked dressed to kill in their dapper suit (him) and lilac ruffled blouse paired with a pretty floral skirt and a bold bubblegum pink ostrich clutch from Nancy Gonzalez (her). Now, the purse  is a little wild for my tastes – both the pink ostrich leather and the gold handle – but overall it’s a hot look.

It’s hard to look like a hippie when you’re carrying a Barneys shopping bag, but somehow that boho queen Kate Hudson pulls it off with her retro knit halter, distressed flared jeans, and snakeskin purse. Renee Zellweger Returns with a Tod’s Purse

She’s baaaaaack. Bridget Jones, that is. But before she starts inhaling donuts and Philly cheese steaks to pack on the pounds for her role, Renee Zellweger would like to flash her skinny belly one last time. Okay…now put it away girl. I’m not feeling this sloppy, overly exposed look, but I do dig the Tod’s hobo she’s got by her side. Renee is a big Tod’s fan, and it’s nice to see that some things never change. Unlike this gal’s weight.
