I’m sorry, what cracker jack box did this fall out of? Or is this an homage to skittles (one of my all time favorite sweet treats by the way)?! Jesus, just when I told a reporter that Givenchy can do no wrong in my book they come out with this beaded crappy mess of a bag. I think the colors are what’s most distracting, I mean throw on some black plastic beads if you must but the mish mash kaleidoscope of color makes it more mariachi than marvelous.

Forever Faithful
Admittedly, I did not love this bag until I saw it in person. In photos it looked busy and awkward but pictures, as we all know, do not tell the full story. This is a bag that needs to be cuddled to be fully appreciated. When held, it is soft with a slight slouchiness and the gently sloped shape keeps it from looking sloppy. In black it was super edgy but the new soft shades are a gorgeous spin on this industry favorite. I’m leaning towards the camel color for Fall– how beautiful will it be with deep purple and chocolate hued clothes! Coral and rich reds also rule for A/W 2010 and the pastel colors will be the perfect complement to your new wardrobe.

Wendy Nichol Pony Bullet Bag
I’m not certain that I would actually wear this Wendy Nichol Pony Bullet Bag, I tend to lean toward bold, gaudy, bulky delights, but I am absolutely mesmerized by it! It’s a remarkable piece of art, if you ask me. It has such intricate detailing and fine quality that I don’t know if it belongs on your arm or if it should be in an enclosed case somewhere. This leopard print bucket bag with tassels and braided straps can be worn on one shoulder, across the body, or as a backpack, making it as versatile as it is detailed! I particularly love the over-sized leather tassel that hangs from the drawstring along with the subtle gold plated cone charm. So, what do you think? Posh purse or picturesque piece of art? It’s so rare that Nancy Gonzalez makes a misstep. Her handbags may not be revolutionary, but it’s nearly impossible to go wrong with exotic materials, beautiful colors and simple shapes. It appears as though she has handbag design nearly down to a science.
The Nancy Gonzalez Hand-Held Croc Clutch is merely the most recent in a long line of sartorial successes from the brand, and as always, I’m drooling over it. Bicolor bag design is difficult to do well (as we’re also discussing over at PurseBlog Savvy currently), but I have absolutely no complaints about this clutch. Well, other than the fact that it isn’t in my closet, of course.
The slouchy finish of the blue croc attracts me to this clutch more than anything else. Crocodile is usually a material reserved for structured, rigid bags, and I always enjoy seeing it used in a soft and touchable way.
