Alexander McQueen DeManta Skull Tote
I’m hit or miss on the larger Alexander McQueen handbags, but I love this DeManta tote in smiling skull material. I also liked the nude leather version I showed you last week, but this one has a little more ‘tude.
This designer handbag is smiling skull canvas with leather dual straps, sides, bottom corners and bottom. It has turned down top corners with McQueen engraved studs and a signature McQueen name plate on front. It has a single zip opening with dual pulls and a single zip interior on the back wall. This bag measures 19 1/2″ wide x 5″ deep x 16 1/4″ high, big enough for a chic every day, carry all. $899 Available here
LOUIS VUITTON MONOGRAM FLEUR DE JAIS SPEEDY BAG
The iconic Speedy has had many incarnations since Marc Jacobs came on board as creative director, and while I may not have loved all of them, I do find the fall edition intriguing. It’s from the Fleur de Jais collection of runway bags and is the bag with the longest waist list at my local Louis Vuitton Bags shop. Look closely the façade is the traditional Monogram, but it’s then silkscreened in gray and then embroidered with sequins in a somewhat abstract motif. Like with its sister bags, this LV Speedy Bag is only available in the 30 cm size but does come with a proper leather-encased key holder you only find on larger bags. I’d definitely get it–and then store it in its box and admire for years to come!
Tiffany & Co. to launch Handbag Collection
Of course they are. It seems that every high end label, from Vera Wang wedding dress designer to now Tiffany & Co. jewelry store, jumps on the high-end handbag wagon. Tiffany & Co. hired Richard Lambertson and John Truex, former owners of the luxe handbag company that bore their respective last names that went out of business last year, to create a designer handbag collection. The “Tiffany Leather Goods” collection, which launches in September, will draw inspiration from jewelry and gemstones according to a Tiffany & Co. press release.
The bag shown here is called the Laurelton; fashioned in lizard, the frame bag retails for $4,800 and is lined in Tiffany’s signature robin’s-egg blue.
Expect a palette in jewel tones like garnet and pearl and bracelet and necklace designs for chain handles on evening bags. They recreated a crystal-bow brooch into a clutch and used the classic six-prong engagement-ring setting as the basis for an innovative twist-lock clasp. Very clever!
Fendi Peek a Boo
Fendi handbags are not among my favorites for the upcoming season with the exception of the classic peek a boo. I love the simple and sophisticated design of this bag, but the pink stingray interior gives it a youthful and feminine appeal.
This designer handbag is an off-white leather peek-a-boo tote. It has double top silver/gold toned turn lock closures, a single top handle and a detachable shoulder strap. There is gold toned stud detailing with small signature logo on the sides of the bag. There is contrasting hot pink stingray optic on the interior with two compartments and one zippered pocket. Fall-Winter 2010 Mens Louis Vuitton collection
Three interesting launch from Fall-Winter 2010 Mens Louis Vuitton collection. It is always felt LV bags are beautiful but highly priced then they worth but this time its not like that.
This collection is worth there pricing. 3 very distinct sub-collections fall under the runway line, and they include Shako, Briska and Monogram Macassar.
First mens bag is Louis Vuitton Shako Cabas Bandouliere priced $2800. The shape of the bag is like a trapezoid and the colour is Resin. Other two are Louis Vuitton Monogram Macassar Messenger GM and Louis Vuitton Brisko Messenger GM. Tentatively priced at USD2800 and USD4500. Use of full leather for one and coated canvas for other made this huge price difference.
Stella McCartney Falabella Chain Bag
This Stella McCartney handbag is very popular this season, as it has sold out at various stores already. I’ve never been a huge fan of Stella’s accessories since she never uses animal skin like leather or python, but she is an avid animal rights advocate, and at least she stands by her convictions. But if I’m spending the big bucks on a bag I prefer a richer material than pleather.
This is a black python faux-leather embossed shoulder bag. It has silver toned metallic chain handles, black and silver toned metallic trimming, and a silver toned signature logo plate on the top of one side.
